When facing a difficult problem, I sometimes feel that learning how to forget is important.
This is based on my own experience. When I face a difficult problem, if I cannot solve it using my usual technique, I try another one. However, sometimes I become too attached to my first technique and keep using it, even when it doesn’t work (and as a result, I end up with a poor outcome).
In such situations, I think it is better to temporarily let go of that first technique.
To begin with, I do not have many techniques. This is because I tend to stick to the first one I learn.
As a result, it becomes difficult for me to set aside a technique and learn new ones.
If I keep learning new techniques one after another and do not become too attached to any single one, I may be able to find better solutions to difficult problems.
In other words, a person who becomes too attached to a single technique may stop growing, or grow more slowly.
This idea may also apply to me.
So I would like to learn how to let go of techniques when necessary, and recall them when they are needed.
I also want to continue learning in new and unfamiliar fields.
Thank you.
